We are one of the leading publishers of free-to-play online games based in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Our backend focused team develops and maintains of our in-house tools and services. A central project is the payment system that incorporates but is not limited to integration with multiple Payment Service Providers, tooling for fraud prevention and customer support. Other projects range from account management to localization service.

As a PHP Developer Tools* you will help build, envolve and maintain Gameforge's ever-growing code base and it will be up to you, together with your teammates, to create state of the art applications and refactor or maybe completely overhaul older solutions. In addition, you will analyze the functionality of our services, investigate new features and always keep an eye on development in the present, but also in the near future.

Your mission

• You develop microservices with a focus on scalability, future-proofing and interoperability
• You take care of the analysis and refactoring of our existing tech stack and help to replace older systems with modern solution
• You are responsible for the documentation of your results, e.g. API specifications, technical requirements or guidelines for external and newcomers
• You create technical specifications that drive our work forward
• You have the opportunity to help shape the entirety of our IT ecosystem together with our Technical Operations team

Your skills

• You have very good and professionally proven knowledge of modern PHP (PHP 7.0 or newer)
• You have experience in the use of ReactPHP or comparable asynchronous frameworks
• You have knowledge of relational databases
• You have experience in software development for clusters with container orchestration, e.g. K8s, Helm, Docker
• You enjoy sharing information with others and find it easy to explain things in detail
• You like working in a team and want to bring you and your abilities to the fore
• You look at the bigger picture, questioning exhausting methods and analysing potential risks
