Your tasks

We are looking for a bioprocess engineer who will interact with a multidisciplinary team of scientists focussing on developing a demonstration reactor for outdoor photo-electro-biotechnology. In particular, we are looking for an expert in:

  • Design of photobioreactors, or bioelectrochemical systems 
  • Bioprocess control
  • Working with pure (non-GMO) microbial strains
  • Scale-up of lab system into a demonstration scale
  • Transfer of prototype to the field

Your profile

  • Ideally, a PhD in bioprocess or bioreactor-engineering, (bio)electrochemistry, or biotechnology with a focus on developing hardware
  • Experience with either bio-electrochemical reactors or (photo)bioreactors, on a technical/pilot scale indoors or outdoors
  • Ability to publish and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A friendly, flexible, self-motivated, and proactive person who pays attention to detail and enjoys working in a diverse international team
