About Kita Kinzigstraße and the position

Our Kinzigstraße daycare center works both inclusively and bilingually in line with the immersion concept. Here the children experience English and German as a natural part of their everyday life. Our multi-professional team (15 employees) consists of German and English (native) speakers who care for and support 50 children in their individual development.

Our pedagogical approach is child-centered and focuses primarily on the development of personal characteristics and skills. With your daily work you help shape and develop the concept, try out new ideas and have a positive impact on the children as well as on your colleagues.

Your tasks as Deputy Kita Manager

As Deputy Kita Manager, you’ll be working pedagogically with the children and also in an administrative role.

Pedagogical tasks (a.o.):

• Observation, documentation and writing development reports
• Planning morning circles and realising pedagogical projects based on the children’s interests
• Educational partnership with parents

Administrative tasks:

• Writing duty rosters
• Checking time sheets
• Cash accounting
• Supporting your Kita Director in the day to day organisation
• Preparing content and material for team days in collaboration with your Kita Director

Leadership tasks:

• In addition, you will be contributing your own pedagogical skills and experience to the team
• Taking part in weekly meetings with the oXxymoron management
• Representing the daycare center in times when the Director is absent.

Additional Information

• Start date: 01.09.2024
• Working hours: 30 to 40 hours per week during our opening hours (7.45 und 17.00)
• Representative tasks: weekly time off for management duties
• Payment: transparent in-house rate (TV-L-oriented)
• Company: oXxymoron gGmbH (3 Kitas, family center, creative space, inhouse kitchen and facility services)

Relevant qualifications, experiences and skills would include:

• Relevant education in the pedagogical field (if you have a foreign degree, it should be already officially recognised by the Berlin Senate)
• Several years of practical experience in the field of (intercultural) Early Education, preferably also in Germany
• A strong interest in developing new skills and expanding your expertise (pedagogically and organisationally)
• A keen interest in inclusive work
• English language skills (C2 or native speaker level)
• Advanced German language skills (B2 level or higher)
• You possess a hands-on-mentality, a high level of creativity and enjoy the combination of organizational, leadership and pedagogical tasks
